955,735. Bobbins. SULZER FRERES S.A. April 4, 1961 [Sept. 27, 1960], No. 24425/63. Divided out of 955,734. Heading B8M. [Also in Division D1] A hollow yarn bobbin having apertures 11, 12, preferably with, bevelled edges 16, in its periphery for the passage of treatment media is characterized .in that there is provided, at least at one end of the bobbin, a slot 31 for the insertion of the yarn end, the slot 31 extending from a first point 32 of the bobbin outer periphery to a second point 34 of the outer periphery without penetrating the inner surface 36 thereof. The bobbin is provided with grooves 2 having flanks 4 perpendicular to the bobbin axis 5 and flanks 6 oblique to this axis. The grooves are separated by peripheral surfaces 9. In one embodiment, Figs. 1 and 2, three slots 31 are provided and in a modification, Fig. 5, a lug 41 is situated above a single rectilinear slot 31. A slot or slots may also be provided at the other end 3 of the bobbin. The bobbin may be made of polyvinyl acetate.
