Abstract

955,665. Cams. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. Jan. 5, 1961 [Jan. 7, 1960], No. 584/60. Heading F2K. An adjustable profile cam comprises a body part formed of three concentric discs 3, 4, 5, secured together in facial contact, the centre disc 4 being radially slotted to accommodate radially slidable blades 8 whose outer ends engage a flexible metal band 11 and whose inner ends are formed obliquely to co-operate with the conical ends of adjusting screws 9 mounted in the disc 5. The conical end of each screw 9 is formed with angularly-spaced grooves 10 for locking engagement with the associated blade 8. The flexible band 11 may have a brass or other friction-reducing strip 13 secured thereto and is secured at one end to the body by a screw 14 and is provided with tensioning means 12.
