Abstract

In dispensing a pre-determined quantity of liquid the rate of flow is reduced when the quantity remaining to be dispensed reaches a certain value. The invention is concerned with bulk deliveries and the number of gallons to be dispensed is set up on selectors S1-S5 which are connected by uniselectors U1-U5 to a lamp projection device I which indicates the number of gallons still to be delivered. With switch S6 at "deliver" the liquid is dispensed, each gallon causing shaft W to produce an impulse via a switch, magnetic or inductive pick-up. Each impulse is applied to a grand totaliser T, to an individual totaliser G and operates the uniselector counter U1-U5 in reverse direction. When the,number of gallons left to be delivered reaches 25, solenoid V1 cuts off to reduce the flow. When the whole quantity has been delivered, V2 cuts off to stop delivery. S6 also advances a batch counter included in G electromechanically, the batch number, amount dispensed, and date being printed by P after each delivery and again before the next. An emergency switch S8 automatically prints number of gallons dispensed while switch K can reset the totaliser T.
