Abstract

953,559. Lubricators. REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT. May 15, 1961 [June 16, 1960], No. 17599/61. Heading F2A. A compressed-air lubricator and air filter for pneumatic apparatus and motors comprises a cylindrical body 1 with end caps 2 and 3 with plugs 5 and 6 sealed with said body. The lower body portion has an air inlet 9 connecting with annular chamber 10 which is interconnected by a helical passage to cylindrical filter 11. Air entering the inlet 9 passes via chamber 10 through the filter 11 into orifice 52 to outlet 22. The upper body portion incorporates an oil reservoir 51 from which oil is allowed to seep through clearance between threaded portion 24 of rod 25 and the boss 23 into groove 41 and by passages 45, 46 in cylindrical member 36 into a space above a flexible member 37. The said member has lips 56 which bear against the lower surface of the member 36 and with pressure changes in the system the lips move sufficiently to permit the oil in droplet form to pass through to a spider member 38 on to a sintered metal disc 39, through which the oil permeates to be picked up in a finely-divided form in the compressed air stream. Control of lubricant is effected by the screw adjustment 24 on the rod 25. Other embodiments involve the combination of various size air filter units with various lubricator units.
