A machine for producing a bulky fabricated yarn comprises a series of eyed needles 1...4 arranged tangentially to a common circle and adapted to be reciprocated by a cam groove 16, so as to pass in turn between the preceding needle and the yarn fed through its eye whereafter the preceding needle is withdrawn to leave a loop of its yarn about the succeeding needle. Each loop in turn is cast off the needles so that a looped yarn of a bulky nature is produced, the yarn so formed passing down through the centre of the machine.
