Abstract

Wood shavings, fibres and the like are scattered on to a support made of flexible material, the supports are moved forward, the formed blanks are taken over by a press feeding device and the support freed of the blanks is returned in a closed circuit to the spot where the formation of the blanks takes place. The flexible supports 3 are carried by an endless conveyer 6 under a particle-scattering device 16 and are then transferred to a second conveyer 9, travelling at increased speed, by which they are carried into a preliminary pressing device 17, 18, the conveyer being stopped during the pressing operation. The support is then stripped from the blank which is fed on to a plate 22 by which it is raised into a heated press. Side and transverse confining walls, the latter attached to the conveyer 6, may be provided. Specification 874,938 is referred to.
