Abstract
951,702. Shoots &c. B. S. RICHNER. Oct. 10, 1961 [Oct. 28, 1960; June 19, 1961] No. 36346/61. Heading B8S. A plate warming magazine 1 has means for releasing a single plate 10 (Fig. 1) at a time. The plates are for keeping dishes warm, and a heater 2 surrounds the magazine for this purpose. The stack of plates 10 rests on stops 30 until they are deflected by the action of an empty plate holder 7 inserted laterally into position beneath the magazine 1. The holder 7 engages a stop 20 which is connected to linkage 16, 18, so as to deflect the stops 30. This permits the bottom plate 10 to fall into the holder 7, but the remaining plates 10 are held by stops 31 which move inwards as the stops 30 move outwards. In a modified construction (Fig. 6), the stack is supported on a plate 45 which is adapted to be deflected laterally from its position beneath the stack by the insertion of a plate holder 48. Rails 50, 50, on the surface of the plate 45 engage followers 57, and due to the inwards kink of each rail, cause members 53 (rigid with the followers 59) to be projected inwardly to support the stack above the lowest plate 10. On withdrawal of the holder 48 with the lowest plate 10 thereon, the plate 45 returns under the action of springs 51, and members 53 are retracted so as to deposit the stack on the plate 45.
