Abstract
831,771. Discharging articles. SCHWEIZERISCHE INDUSTRIE G.m.b.H. Feb. 21, 1958, No. 5790/58. Addition to 822,384. Class 78 (1). A predetermined number of biscuits 3 are discharged from magazine into a container on endless belt 2 by means of pairs of pivoted fingers 11, 5, fingers 5 being mounted on the fixed magazine and fingers 11 being mounted on up-and-down reciprocating bracket 10. Fig. 2 shows bracket 10 in its lowered position, fingers 5 retaining the articles under the influence of springs 9 whilst fingers 11 diverge due to engagement with abutments 16 to discharge the biscuits on to belt 2. When bracket 10 reaches its elevated position, cams 15 on fingers 11 engage fingers 5 to cause the latter to open to release biscuits on to fingers 11, the latter by reaction at the same moment being forced inwards to catch the released biscuits. The cycle continues so that the biscuits are deposited thus in lots of predetermined number, the number being determined by the height of the cams, which cams are accordingly made exchangeable.
