950,885. Plate warmers. LEGION UTENSILS CO. Inc. July. 27, 1961, No. 27219/61. Heading F4U. A plate warmer comprises a sheet metal base member 10<SP>1</SP> serving to carry peripherally a plate 13<SP>1</SP> and an inverted shallow dished member 11<SP>1</SP> with a shallow re-entrant portion for loosely receiving an annular heat-retaining pellet 12<SP>1</SP> arranged parallel to and spaced from the plate. The base member 101 has on its bottom an upstanding portion 10F<SP>1</SP> over which the inverted shallow dished member 11<SP>1</SP> is sealed. The dished member 11<SP>1</SP> has three positioning studs 11N<SP>1</SP> on which the heat-retaining pellet 12<SP>1</SP> rests. The plate warmer is equipped with a cover (not shown) which rests on the lip 10D<SP>1</SP> of the base member 10<SP>1</SP>. The cover is so shaped that an upstanding portion of generally circular shape is formed in its top. This upstanding portion, when a number of the plate warmers are stacked, locates in the recessed portion 10F<SP>1</SP> of the plate warmer immediately above it. In a modification, the dished member comprises an upper dished portion and a lower disc portion joined at their periphery to provide a substantially insulating air-space between them.
