Plate warmer The invention relates to a plate warmer with a housing made of sheet metal, the bottom of which jumps upwards in its central section, and the outwardly rising side walls with a peripheral edge for supporting a food container, with a circular section above the bottom for receiving a Heat storage body is provided. Such plate warmers are spieziell for use in hospitals, restaurants and the like.
The aim of the invention is to create a plate warmer of the type mentioned, in which there is sufficient insulation between the heat storage body and the parts which have to be touched when the plate warmer is worn. Furthermore, the plate warmer should be easy to clean and simple and inexpensive to construct.
The plate warmer according to the invention is characterized in that the circular receptacle section consists of sheet metal and sits with its underside on the upwardly projecting part of the housing, while it is provided on its upper side with a recess for inserting the heat storage body, such that it is parallel and close to an attached feed carrier and there is an insulating air gap between the recess and the housing base.
Two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the drawing. 1 shows a cross section through a plate warmer along the line 1 - 1 in FIG. 3, the attachment being omitted and a plate being arranged in the heating device in order to be able to show the mutual position of certain parts of the heating device, 2 is a side elevational view of individual plate heaters stacked vertically on top of one another, with certain parts shown in section and other parts either omitted or broken away, FIG. 3 a plan view of the plate heater with the top removed;
4 shows a cross-sectional representation of a second embodiment of the invention.
The plate heater according to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 has a housing 10 'with an offset base 10 F', with the side wall 10 B 'and with the peripheral parts 10 C, 10 D' and 10 E '. The edge 10 C of the housing 10 'serves to support the feeder plate 13'. A circular section 11 'is located above the offset part of the base 10 F' and is hermetically sealed with a soft solder seam 15 'on the edge 11 C. Furthermore, a plate-shaped part 11 J 'is provided between the bottom 11 A' of the circular section 11 ', in such a way that an insulating air gap is present between the part 11 A' and the part 11 J '.
The cover 14 'consists of the upper part 14 A', the side wall 14 B ', the peripheral edge 14 E' and the part 14 F 'which is located in the middle and is offset upwards.
The bottom 11 A 'of the circular section 11' is notched circumferentially and turned inside out in such a way that a depression 11 K 'is created. The Ver recess 11 K 'is used to accommodate the heat storage body 12'. The edge 11 L ', which is obtained circumferentially by turning over the bottom 11 A' in relation to the side wall 11 B 'of the plate-shaped piece 11', is used to hold the heat storage body 12 'so that it cannot move laterally and is automatically centered with respect to the bottom of the overlying plate 13 'at a short distance therefrom. This centering is facilitated by the downward sloping formation of the peripheral edge 11M 'of the circular portion 11'.
The heat storage body 12 'can consist of aluminum, for example. It is warmed up in a kitchen stove to around 200 C and then inserted into the recess 11 K 'of the plate heater using a special tool.
To ensure the distance between the plate 13 'and the heat storage body 12', three upwardly directed projections 11N 'are pressed into the bottom 11A' of the circular section 11 '. This also reduces the metallic touch between the heat storage body 12 'and the part 11 A', so that less heat is transferred to the bottom of the plate heater.
The merging surfaces of the circular section 11 'are designed so that there is only a slight possibility that food particles can collect at these locations. The plate warmer can be cleaned very easily and quickly. Any required sterilization can also be carried out easily and safely. The feed carrier plate 13 'is protected with its outer circumference embedded in the annular circumferential parts 10 C and 10 D' of the housing 10 '.
A cover 14 'serves to close off the plate heater. As can be seen from Fig. 2, it rests fully come on the housing 10 '. It has absolutely no contact with the plate 13 '. The cover 14 ', like the housing 10', is preferably made from a stainless steel sheet of a certain quality. He hugs the peripheral part 10 D 'of the subset 10' completely.
As can be seen from FIG. 2, the lid 14 'sits with its edge 14 E' over the edge 10 D 'on the housing 10', with its central part 14 A 'being farthest from the housing 10'. The side wall 14 B 'of the lid goes continuously into the middle part 14 A'. The side wall 14 B 'widens outwards and downwards, so that a concave space is formed in relation to the housing 10'.
To facilitate the stacking of individual plate heaters, the upwardly protruding part 14 F ', which is offset towards the middle part 14 A' of the lid 14 ', is used.If several plate heaters are stacked on top of one another, the offset part 14 F' of the lid engages a lower plate heater in each case the correspondingly pressed-in bottom part 10 F 'of the housing 10' of the respective upper plate warmer lying above the bar. This means that several plate warmers can be stacked with their lids on top of each other.
A second embodiment of the plate heater is shown in FIG. This comprises a housing 10 ″ with a bottom 10 F ″, which has an upwardly pressed and thus offset part 10 F ″ in the middle, as well as a side wall 10 B ″ and a peripheral edge 10 C ″. The feed carrier plate 13 ″ is supported by the Edge 10 C "recorded.
A circular section 11 "is located above the offset part of the base 10 F" and serves to hold the heat storage body 12 ".
The receiving section 11 "for the heat storage body 12 'has an upper peripheral edge 11 L" and a large, pressed-in middle part 11 K ". Directly above the bottom part 10 F" sits a plate-shaped part 11 P ", the edge 11 Q" of which is bent down and the edge 11 C "of the section 11" engages. The plate-shaped part 11 P ″ is welded to the edge 11 C ″ on the circumference. This ent creates an insulating air space between the bottom part 11 A "and the bottom part 10 F".
In this embodiment, too, the heat storage body lies only on three upwardly directed bulges 11N ″ of the bottom part 11A ″. This punctiform contact reduces the unwanted heat dissipation from the heat storage element 12 "to the housing of the plate heater. While the heat storage element and the food carrier plate are at considerable temperatures, the bottom of the plate heater remains relatively cool.
