Abstract

A planchet for radioassays comprises a flat bottom 2 surrounded by an upstanding circumferential rim 3 and having on the inner surface of the bottom at least two concentric ridges 4, 5, 6, 7, and at least two radially extending ribs 8, 9, 10, 11, said ribs being less in height than said ridges. The planchet may be fabricated of glass, plastic, aluminium, stainless steel, iron or copper, and metal planchets may be plated. Suitable dimensions of the planchet, ribs and ridges are exemplified. Numerals relate to Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown); a further figure illustrates a planchet having two ridges and six ribs.
