Abstract

950,884. Metal-working presses. CENTRE D'ETUDES ET D'APPLICATIONS DES TECHNIQUES DE PRODUCTION. July 27, 1961 [Aug. 8, 1960], No. 27211/61. Headings B3H and B3Q. [Also in Division B8] Articles such as press tool assemblies 5 are transferred between a table 16 and the platform 3 of a lift truck by a carriage 4 provided with rollers 22, 25 running on rails 23, 24 extending across the platform 3 between sets of rollers 17. The carriage is driven by an electric motor 27 through worm gears 28, 29 and pinions 33, 34, 35 and pinions 36, 37 engaging racks 43, 44 which are integral with the rails 23, 24. Racks 45, 46, which are releasably attached to lugs 63 on the press tool assembly, are slidably supported in channel members 47, 48 secured to the carriage casing 21 and are engaged by pinions 73, 74, the gearing being such that as the carriage moves across the width of the platform 3, the racks 45, 46 are moved between the fully extended and fully retracted positions. The racks 45, 46 may be formed as three pivoted sections. The table 16 and platform 3 are provided with angle members 14, 13 so that the platform 3 may be positively located and supported at the side of the table 16. As shown, the platform 3 is provided with two carriages 4, 4a.
