In a rake-wheel type of haymaking machine which is attached to a tractor so that it can be propelled in two alternative opposite directions, for side-delivery or another haymaking operation respectively, the rakewheels are provided with two sets of tines, each set engaging the crop in one of the two directions of travel, and the rake-wheels themselves are mounted so that they can be moved between the two working positions without altering the attachment be tween the implement and the tractor. As shown, the main frame 1, 2, is L-shaped and is secured to the front of a walk-type tractor 33 by lugs 37A, 38A the left-hand lug 38A having alternative attachment holes so that the frame may be adjusted slightly about a vertical axis defined by the right-hand lug. The rake-wheels 14-16 are carried on cranks 11-13 mounted on stub-axles 3, 4, 5 projecting from the frame at an upward inclination of approximately 10 degrees. The cranks can be locked by detents 27-29 in three alternative positions about the axes of the stubshafts; these correspond to the full- and dotted-line positions shown in Fig. 1 and a third, raised, position, for transport. In the full-line position, the device travels in the direction F, for side-delivery and in the dotted-line position it operates as a tedder, travelling in the direction R. The frame includes a single caster 1A. Each rake-wheel includes a hub 41 integral with a plate 42 around which are secured a ring of flat-headed bolts 43A. Hairpin-shaped tines 44, 45 are secured beneath the head 43 of the bolt and under the nut 46 and these are bent, after passing through a rim 47 to form the two series of tines 48, 50. All the tines are bent backwardly in relation to the direction rotation of the wheel, and the tines 50 are additionally bent to lie on a frustoconical surface, which is perpendicular to the ground at the lowest point of the wheel when the latter is in the tedding position.
