Abstract

Hydrocortisone acetate is converted into a pharmaceutically useful solubilized form by dissolution in a compound of the formula <FORM:0950161/A5-A6/1> wherein R is an alkyl group of from 1 to 13 carbon atoms. The solution thus obtained may be incorporated into hydrophilic and hydrophobic bases, e.g. water, polyethylene glycols, oils and petrolatum, the steroid remaining in solution in the product.
