Abstract
949,217. Spring suspensions. REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT. May 16, 1960 [June 17, 1959], No. 17216/60. Heading B7D. An independent front wheel suspension comprises a single link 5 pivotally connected at 6 to the chassis or body of the vehicle and by a ball-and-socket joint 4 to a rod 3 carrying the stub axle 2 and axially slidable in an elastically mounted bearing 12. The latter may be of the ball circulation type or be made from sintered bronze alloy, graphite or anti-friction metal. It is mounted in a sleeve 10 of rubber-like material.
