Abstract

947,707. Knitting-machines. H. ROSENTHAL. Feb. 4, 1960 [July 24, 1959; Jan. 21, 1960], No. 4070/60. Heading D1C. Needle or sinker cams or other components of a circular machine having a dial driven by a rotary hollow shaft 2 are actuated by a selector device of the perforated hand type 4 which controls at least one selector unit 6 which transmits impulses through at least one transmission device 9 passing in or along the hollow shaft to influence a push member 9b controlling the component 3 of the machine. A locking device 15 having a groove engaged by a spring loaded plunger 13 serves to secure the push member 9b in its projected position and is released by a pin 23 pushing the device 15 back to its initial position. The transmission device 9 may be in the form of a flexible cable or an electrical conductor actuating an electromagnet either of which devices operate the pusher member 9b. A member 12 also serves to lock the cam or other component 3 in position and can be released when desired.
