947,325. Gauging apparatus. P. SEBASTIANI. March 8, 1961,No. 8401/61. Heading G1M. Gauging apparatus comprises a feeler 14 supported by leaf springs 31, 32 in a housing 2. Movement of the feeler 14 is transmitted to a bar 5, supported by right angle spring 7, by a member 8 supported on a lever 14. Light from a lamp 6 passes through translucent slots in a member connected to bar 5 and through further slots in the housing 2. Either a light slot is illuminated, in which case the measured value corresponds to a nominal value or a diffused light effect occurs in which case the deviation from the nominal value can be perceived. The slots may be covered by different coloured lenses to facilitate reading. The scale of the readings may be adjusted by moving a pointer 12, thus moving the member 8 which constitutes the pivot point of the bar 5. An adjustable jaw 16 is provided opposite the feeler 12.
