947,219. Magnetic structures. CARIBONUM Ltd. June 9, 1961 [July 20, 1960], No. 25338/60. Heading H1H. [Also in Division D2] A magnetic transfer sheet comprises a base web carrying a transfer coating formed by solvent coating technique, and containing by weight 50-85% magnetic pigment, 5-15% plastics binder, and 5-45% plasticizer for the binder. The web may be paper or " Melinex " (Registered Trade Mark). The pigment may be iron oxide of a particle size less than 5 Á. The web 40 may be provided with an undercoating 45 of hard wax (carnauba, candelilla, sugar cane, or silicon), and the transfer coating 41 may be provided with a top coating 44 of microcrystalline wax, beeswax, or polyethylene and paraffin wax. The plastics binder may be vinyl chloride/acetate copolymer or chlorinated rubber. The plasticizer may be tricresyl phosphate or dioctyl phthalate. Methylethyl ketone, or toluene may be used as solvents. Specifications 683,505 and 748,763 are referred to.
