Abstract

1419804 Transfer sheet G RITZERFELD 22 Nov 1973 [19 Dec 1972] 54223/73 Heading D2B [Also in Division G2] A pressure-sensitive transfer sheet suitable for use in a spirit-reproducing process comprises a flexible carrier provided with a transferable coating comprising 40-65% by wt. of an image generating material, 5-25% by wt. of a synthetic or cellulosic film-forming binder, 25-40% by wt. of an oily modifying agent, and 0.2 to 10% by wt. of a wax, the melting point of which lies between 40-110‹C and which is hard at normal room temperature. The image generating material may be a dyestuff. The binder may comprise polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl chloride, or ethyl cellulose. The wax may be microcrystalline, ozocerite, montan, candelilla, carnauba, beeswax, shellac wax, or a polyvinyl ether wax, or a mixture thereof. The oily modifying agent may be castor or peanut oil. The carrier may be paper or a polyester or polypropylene foil. The coating may be provided with a protective wax coating free of image generating material.
