Abstract

A lapping oil consists essentially of 0.5 to 2.0% by weight of a microcrystalline petroleum wax of M.P. 180-220 DEG F. and a penetration of below 20 mm./10 at 77 DEG F., together with a petroleum lubricating oil base of viscosity 10-30 cs. at 100 DEG F. 20 p.p.m. of a silicone anti-foamant can also be present.
