Abstract

946,784. Eyelets; bolts; covers for boltholes. HUMBER Ltd., and T. C. A. LONG. Feb. 16, 1962 [Nov. 18, 1960], No. 39700/60. Heading F2H. A rubber grommet for lining a hole for the passage of a wire or pipe is formed as shown, a screw thread or annular ribs 18 being formed on an external tapering surface. The internal surface of the same portion may also be tapered. There may be a constriction 13, for gripping the wire &c., at each end of the grommet or there may be a membrane, Fig. 2, closing the bore in the region of an external rib 15, the tapered constricted portion being omitted. In the latter case the grommet is a closure for a hole but the membrane may be removable or rupturable for passing a wire &c.
