In a fluid pressure load cell of the kind in which a plunger 3 is supported in a pressure chamber 1 by an annular flexible diaphragm 4 secured to the plunger and the chamber body, the diaphragm is of metal and the portion 4c thereof which covers the annular space 10 between the plunger head 3c and the chamber walls 1b is convex towards the liquid containing lower chamber portion 1c. The plunger stem 3a is surmounted by a loading dome 9 and the lower chamber portion 1c communicates with an outlet 11 adapted for connection to a metering device.
