Abstract

945,444. Troughing rollers for endless conveyers. JONAS WOODHEAD & SONS Ltd. July 23, 1962 [Oct. 26, 1961], No. 38427/61. Heading B8A. In Figs. 1, 3, the bracket 13 which supports one end of a spring idler roller 10 is formed of spring steel and absorbs impact shock loads which the roller 10 is incapable of cushioning. The bracket is bifurcated at its upper end to receive trunnions 12 of a bearing assembly 11 for the roller and is bolted by bolts 14 to a fixed support 15. A stop 17 locates the bracket, and a hole 16 for one of the bolts 14 is enlarged to allow the bracket limited angular or swivelling movement. In Fig. 4, a bracket 20 for the roller is pivotally mounted at 21, the bracket being non-resilient but spring loaded by a compression spring 23. In a further construction, Fig. 5, a pivoted bracket 24 is spring loaded by a compression spring 28 which is located on a rod 26 pivoted to the bracket. Specification 811,287 is referred to.
