944,766. Lift shaft door locks. INVENTIO A.G. Nov. 23, 1961 [Dec. 5, 1960], No. 41914/61. Heading B8L. A lift shaft door lock which prevents movement of the lift car when the shaft door 18 is open comprises a housing 2 secured to the door post 1 and provided with a sliding bolt 3. The bolt 3 is provided with a groove 3.1 which receives a dog 4.1 on an arm 4 secured to the shaft 5 having an arm (not shown) co-operating with a movable slideway on the cabin. When the lift car is about to start a journey, the slideway is removed and a spring 6 pushes the bolt against a stop 19, welded to the door 18, and thereby causes a contact bridge 11, which is pivoted to an arm 10 connected to a support 7 secured to the bolt 3, to engage fixed contacts 15, 16 of the locking circuit of the lift control circuit. The support 7 is provided with a bolt 8 which passes through an opening in the arm 10 and a spring 9 presses the arm 10 against the support 7. If the slideway is removed accidentally when the shaft door 18 is open, the bolt 3 will be pushed by the spring 6 beyond the position of the stop 19 to a position in which the arm 10 engages a stop 17, causing the arm to pivot on the bolt 8 against the action of the spring 9 thereby preventing the contact bridge 11 from engaging the contacts 15, 16, Fig. 3 (not shown).
