944,498. Photographic cameras. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Aug. 30,1962 [Sept. 2, 1961], No. 33331/62. Headings G2A and G2E. A photographic or cinematographic camera includes a diaphragm blade coupled to the moving part of a photo-electric exposure meter and having a slot of tapered form, the lateral edges of which define one dimension of the taking lens aperture, and a pair of reflecting surfaces which are disposed on opposite sides of the axis of the taking lens to deflect a part of the light passing through the taking lens and to define the other dimension of the maximum effective aperture. As shown the diaphragm blade 16 having a tapered aperture 16a is arranged behind a transparent beam-splitting block 3 having reflecting portions 3a, 3b. The reflected light passes to a viewfinder to form a real image on a ground glass or lenticular plate 10. Alternatively, the reflected light may be directed to the photo-cell of the exposure meter or to both the cell and the viewfinder.
