[Also in Division A4] A platform 1 is movable vertically between a lowered position, in which a griller and toaster carried beneath it is stowed below the level of a hot plate of a domestic cooker, and two elevated positions, in which it can be used, respectively, for toast making and spit grilling. The platform is raised by turning handle 5 to wind wire 28 on pulley 6. A counterweight 10 simultaneously falls. The gas connection to the grill includes a flexible tube and is arranged so that a cam on shaft 4 extinguishes the flame when the platform is lowered. A spring-urged locking device (Fig. 3, not shown) maintains the platform in each of its three positions. The use of springs or a motor instead of counterweights, and a telescopic tubular guiding arrangement instead of ball-mounted guide 2 are referred to. The grill may be heated electrically.
