[Also in Division F4] An electric lamp-holder is carried by a support plate on the opposite face of which is a framework carrying a transformer, connecting means being provided to the primary winding of the transformer and from the secondary winding to the lamp-holder, the whole being surrounded by a casing having a stud secured pivotally at diametrically opposite points on the casing which are provided with means to retain the casing in position when tilted. In the form shown, the support plate 3 is a flat disc having a peripheral skirt 4 on which a shroud 5 for the lamp 14 and a casing 1 to enclose the transformer 6 are mounted as push fits. The lamp-holder 13 is secured to the centre of the disc 3 with the interposition of a shield 17 of heat-resisting material. The transformer 6 is carried by a framework 7 of strip material secured to the disc 3 by a nut 11 on a bush 12 projecting from the rear of the lamp-holder. The framework 7 carries a terminal block 18 and a sleeve 20 for the passage of the primary leads. Both the casing 1 and the shroud 5 are provided with ventilating slots 25, 24, the latter being of a length that does not extend in front of a reflecting coating on the rear part of the bulb 14, this part being parabolic. A wire stand. 28 is adjustably secured to the casing 1 and has bushes 27 at the ends. A rivet passes successively through each bush, a felt washer, the body of the casing and a strengthening washer and is clinched over.
