A rotary reducing die comprises a die holder, a die removably secured in the holder and a power actuated ejector device carried by the holder to eject said die. A circular frustoconical die 113 has a work forming front recess 116 and is retained by tape engagement in a holder 115. Preferably the die comprises sectors insulated from each other and connected to an electrical supply so that when a rotating tube 117, which is to be end formed, is brought into contact with the sectors current is caused to flow which produces a heating effect on the tube end. The holder carries a reciprocating hydraulic motor comprising a cylinder 118 and a hollow ram 119 having a screwed extension 124 to which a flange 126 is fitted. The cylinder is connected to a hand pump 120 and the ram advanced to eject the die 113. A number of springs 127 are provided between the flange 126 and the cylinder end wall to retain the ram in the retracted position.
