Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish a corner rounding on the inner periphery as extended to desired length quickly, easily and accurately by means of a punch with a ship- bottom-shaped blade installed on the undersurface of a punch holder in an apparatus designed to round the corner connection of an aluminium shaped material.
CONSTITUTION: A die set is equipped between the ram and bed of a press machine. While one stopper 8b is put forward and the other stopper 8b is put backward, a work 10 is inserted onto a die in contact with the stopper 8a. Piston rods 9a and 9a of cylinders 9 and 9' move forward to fix the work 10 at a given position on the die. Then, a punch 5 having a ship-bottom-shaped blade is lowered to punch a ship- bottom-shaped notch 11a on the inner peripheral portion of the work. Then the work is moved by a given distance and a notch 11b is punched by the same operation. Likewise, a notch 11c is punched on the work 10. In this manner, a round corner 12 can be formed.
