Abstract

942,739. Cabinets. SOC. CIVILE DE RECHERCHES ET D'ETUDES INDUSTRIELLES. Oct. 11, 1962 [Oct. 11, 1961], No. 38628/62. Heading A4B. A collapsible metal cabinet, having a front frame consisting of uprights and of upper and lower channel section cross members 5, includes channel section door hinge carrying strips 1 extending the width of the cabinet and being securable to the cross members 5, each strip 1 having the inturned end of one flange 6 anchored behind a flange 7 of a cross member 5 and having lugs 3 on its resilient flange 2 in snap engagement with the other flange 4 of the cross member 5. The door top hinge comprises a bushed cup 8 secured to the apertured upper strip 1 to receive a male element 13 which slidably extends through a bush 10 in the top of a vertical channel member 9 secured to the door. The male element 13 carries a bent rod 14 having a horizontal position 15 which is slidable in one or other of two slots 19 in a plate 16 secured to the door, the slots 19 being interconnected by a narrower slot 17 which may be opened by bending a lug 20 to transfer the portion 15 and hence retract or extend the male element 13. At the lower hinge the male element 23 is moulded integrally with the bush 24. The doors may be folded back to overlie the cabinet sides. The channel members 9 may be covered by beading.
