Water vapour and other combustion products are condensed in the outlet flue and chimney 5 of a fuel burning appliance 3 by passage over - an air inlet tube 8 coaxial with the chimney and flue. A shroud 15 surrounding the lower part of the air tube 8 collects the condensate and leads it to an outlet 18. The upper end of the air inlet tube 8 is bent over beyond the chimney top 6, and the air heated in the tube 8 is delivered to a burner chamber 14. In order to prevent re-evaporation of the condensate, the lower part of the shroud 15 is surrounded by insulating material.
