Abstract
941,074. Mounting rotors for dynamo-electric machines. H. MOSER. Dec. 12, 1960 [Dec. 14, 1959], No. 42651/60. Heading H2A. The axial length of a glandless, centrifugal pump is reduced by eliminating stator-coil cross-overs by the use of a shaded-pole winding which enables the impeller to be cast integrally with the rotor cage. As shown in Fig. 3 for an eight-pole motor, four stator coils 14 are wound on alternate poles, eight shading rings 15 being provided. The stator is enclosed in a ring-yoke 20. The stator bore may be sleeved or an endwinding guard 19 may be provided, the coils being embedded in resin. The rotor may be mounted on a hollow shaft or simply be provided with endbearings 3b, 3c. The bearings have resilient mountings 5, 7. The impeller may have a shroud plate 11 of different material, e.g. stainless steel. Specification 914,912 is referred to.
