Abstract

940,602. Gloves. ADVANCE GLOVE MANUFACTURING CO. Dec. 15, 1961 [Dec. 19, 1960], No. 44980/61. Heading A3V [Also in Division H5]. Gloves, mittens or other hand coverings are made by placing a non-conducting form 15 on a sheet 12 of partly or wholly thermoplastic material, stretching a second portion 13 over the form, bringing together the flat electrode 11 and the shaped electrode 18 and applying high frequency electric power between them to cause dielectric sealing, removing the form, trimming off excess material and turning the glove inside out. The electrodes 11, 18 are made of high conductivity metal e.g. brass or bronze and the form 15 may be made of wood, resins, rubber or compositions in sections 15a, 15b, 15c for easy withdrawal. The glove fabric may be a thermoplastic film of polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene chloride; copolymers of vinylidene chloride and vinyl chloride, ethyl cellulose, cellulose acetate, cellulose acetate butyrate &c., or from thermoplastic coated fabrics, or fabrics made by interweaving non thermoplastic and thermoplastic strands. One portion of the glove, e.g. the palm portion may be completely non thermoplastic.
