Class 93 Decorative sheets are produced by locally welding together thin plastic sheets, at least one of which is translucent and at least another of which is opaque and coloured. An opaque coloured sheet may be sandwiched between two milky-white translucent sheets, and the opaque sheet may be multicoloured. Openings in the opaque sheet may be filled with differently coloured pieces. The welds can follow any desired design, and the plastic material may be polyvinyl chloride. Semi-transparent coloured sheets may be applied to the surface of the translucent sheet and welded thereto according to any desired design. These coloured sheets may be previously shaped or shaped after welding by cutting or tearing, and may be thin sheets or made from polyvinyl chloride sponge. Welding may be effected by a high-frequency generator. As shown, three sheets of polyvinyl chloride are used, sheet a being opaque and bright-red and sheets b<SP>1</SP> and b<SP>2</SP> being translucent and milkywhite. The sheets are welded together to give a border c, a festoon d and a flower e.
