[Also in Groups X, XI, XIII and XXXVI] Two electrical conductors C, C are embedded, during an extrusion process, in a rigid moulding made e.g. of polyvinyl chloride or rubber so that, by connecting a low-voltage electricity supply to them at one end of the strip and joining their other ends electrically, an electric current can be passed through the conductors to raise the temperature of the strip and render it pliable for easy fitment over a bannister rail R.
