939,090. Clamp fastenings; hinges. THOMAS WALKER Ltd. June 20, 1962 [Aug. 4, 1961], No. 28337/61. Classes 44 and 65 (2). A fastening device comprises a pressureapplying lever 5 pivotally mounted in and between a pair of sheet metal side ears 7 projecting from a carrier plate 1, the lever having a pressure arm 6 which in use is movable angularly to co-operate with the carrier plate or with a movable clamping member 3 to provide a clamping pressure, the pivotal mounting of the lever 5 being made by means of lateral trunnion projections 9 on the lever engaging in bearings in the side ears, the side ears having pressed out thereof tubular extensions 10a to provide around the bearing apertures, open bearing sleeves having an axial length greater than the thickness of the sheet metal of which the side ears are formed. Each tubular extension is surrounded by a raised annular embossed reinforcing part 12. Specification 710,814 is referred to.
