Abstract
939,003. Aerials. SIRAN Ltd. March 13, 1962 [March 13, 1961], No. 9033/61. Class 40(7). [Also in Groups XXV and XXXII] The aerial element 20 and the arm 17 carrying the rear-view driving mirror 16 (intended for use on a motor vehicle or small boat) each terminate in a boss 21, 18 (Fig. 1) having their adjacent edges serrated so as to be independently rotatable and yet securely fixed by the screw 22 to the boss 15 integral with the common support-arm 14. The assembly is fixed to the vehicle by means of the threaded bush 10 (Fig. 2) which is passed through a hole in the vehicle 35 and held in position by the cap nut 11 and washer 12. The support 14 terminates in a pedestal 13 to which is secured an insulating annulus 25 through which passes the inner core of the connecting cable 33. The annulus 25 is further fastened to the member 26, the lower surface of which is shaped to co-operate with the upper surface of the bush 10 to allow the assembly to yield if accidently struck. If this should happen the assembly is returned to its correct position by the biasing spring 31 acting on the tube 28 which is held against the member 26. The mirror frame and the support 14 may also act as radiating elements.
