Abstract

937,291. Gas filters. BAHCO. A. B. Feb. 10, 1961 [Feb. 10, 1960], No. 5102/61. Class 8(2). Reciprocation to effect cleaning of a plurality of vertical outward flow filter bags 4 having their lower open ends secured round apertures in a horizontal partition 2, Fig. 1 (not shown), of a housing 1 and their upper closed ends connected to a horizontal rigid framework 7, 8 is effected by a fluid operated reciprocating motor housing its movable member e.g. the cylinder 12 connected to the frame 7, 8 by a box-like support 11 which is positively guided by at least two arms 20 pivoted to the support 11 and to the casing 1 whereby the frame remains substantially horizontal during vibration. As shown the reciprocating cylinder 12 projects through an aperture in the top of the filter housing 1 and is surrounded by a resilient sealing member 13 whilst the piston is held stationary by its rod 14 being secured by cushions 16, 17 to a box-like bracket 15 fixed to the housing. The motor is controlled by a distributing valve 18. In a modification the cylinder is held fixed whilst the piston reciprocates and is secured to the frame 7, 8.
