937,075. Knitting. F. W. SELLORS Ltd., and R. V. SELLORS. Oct. 23, 1961 [Oct. 21, 1960; Jan. 25, 1961], Nos. 36181/60 and 2989/61. Drawings to Specification. Class 74 (2). A heel-less rotationally knitted tubular stocking having a portion which is intended to be boarded out to form a heel is provided with a visually detectable marking at that portion to assist the trimmer in determining the heel position. The Specification describes several ways in which the marking may be effected. It is stated that this feature enables the foot to be drawn on the board in a relaxed condition, avoiding subsequent distortion of the foot fabric. Further the provision of the marking at the heel, in conjunction with a conventional mark at or adjoining the welt, enables the trimmer to draw the blank on to the board without the blank being twisted.
