Abstract
936,614. Determining liquid level. MINNEAPOLIS-HONEYWELL REGULATOR CO. Nov. 20, 1959, No. 39557/59. Addition to 815,449. Class 37. In an arrangement for preventing the effect of leakage across the insulators 20 between the plates 10, 11 of a measuring condenser, the insulators are mounted at one end on the outer electrode 10, and at the inner end on earthed conductive islands 26, 25 which form with electrode 11, a composite inner member, the islands being insulated from the electrode 11. The capacitor is suitable for measuring liquid level, and the width of the inner electrode is made to vary over the height of the capacitor to produce a linear response.
