Abstract

936,420. Demountable partitions. EXPANDED METAL CO. Ltd. Feb. 13, 1962 [Feb. 28, 1961], No. 7312/61. Class 20 (4). A partition which can be removed and reerected has a rigid framework formed by upright studs 2 of rolled sheet metal in two opposite faces of which are formed continuous longitudinal jaws 10, the studs being inter-connected by horizontal bridging members 3 which have end portions interlocking in slots 4 in the studs, and a series of panels 7 fixed to the studs by T-shaped members 8 the webs 11 of which are releasably held in the jaws 10 of the studs and the flanges 12 of which engage over the edges of the panels so that these are clamped between the flanges and the studs. The lower ends of the studs 2 engage between upturned side walls of a channel fixed to or resting on the floor, and the upper ends of the studs similarly engage a similar capping channel 5, Fig. 2, which rests within a larger channel 6. The upper edges of the panels are located between the side walls of the channels 5, 6. Specification 902,993 is referred to.
