Abstract

A dental impression composition comprises 10-30% of one or more of sodium, potassium, or ammonium alginate as gel-forming agent, 8-25% of fully hydrated calcium sulphate, 1-5% of sodium tripolyphosphate or tetrasodium pyrophosphate as retarding agent, 0,1-2% of one or more alkali metal fluorides as control agent, and 1-8% of one or more alkali metal fluorotitanates. The composition may also contain 20-70% of diatomaceous earth and up to 16% of magnesium oxide as filler. The composition may also contain oil of peppermint and cetrimide.
