Abstract

1468149 Dentifrices NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP 26 Feb 1974 [22 Jan 1973] 3143/73 Heading A5B Dentifrice compositions comprise a source of calcium and phosphate ions and an inorganic fluoride salt in amounts such that, in use, there is formed in the mouth a solution which is saturated with respect to calcium and phosphate ions containing between 0.5 ppm and 100 ppm fluoride ions by weight. Other conventional ingredients may be present, e.g. for toothpastes, other abrasives such as CaCO3, silica, calcium pyrophosphate and sodium metaphosphate. A buffer in the range pH 5.8 to 7.5 is preferably also present.
