Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare a composition for oral cavity application, effective to improve the acid resistance of the tooth for a long period, easily giving a preparation having excellent feeling to the mouth, and useful as toothpaste, etc., by the use of a hardly soluble stannous compound, a soluble fluorine compound free of tin ions, and a phytic acid compound. CONSTITUTION:A composition for oral cavity application containing (A) a hardly soluble stannous compound (e.g. stannous pyrophosphate) a part of which exists pref. as precipitate, (B) a soluble fluorine compound free of tin ions (e.g. sodium fluoride), and (C) a phytic acid compound (e.g. phytic acid). The amounts of (A), (B) and (C) are pref. 0.2-10wt% as tin, 100-10,000ppm as fluorine ion, and 0.1-20wt% (especially 0.2-10wt%), respectively. The pH value of the composition is pref. 2-7, especially 3-6. The composition exhicits excellent effect to improve the acid resistance of the tooth, and keeps the effect for a long period. It gives excellent feeling to the mouth, and there is little restrictions in the preparation.
