[Also in Groups XIV and XXXV] In an electric hair clipper energization of the windings 71, 72 of the motor 66 on the legs of a laminated U-shape field structure is controlled by a switch 74 accommodated in notches 110, 111 of flanges 21a, 22a of the casing sections and comprises an insulating support 112 of thermosetting plastic having pairs of slits 115, 116 to receive the limbs of U-shape contact lugs 113, 114, spherical contacts 113a, 114a being formed in the bights of the lugs. A switch knob 121 is slidably supported by a bracket 117 having lugs 117a, 117b received in slots in the plate 112 and ends 117c, 117d located in slots 126, 127 in the casing, the knob being mounted on the bracket by passing the tubular shaft 121a through the opening 120 with the projections 121b disposed in the direction of the major axis of the opening, the knob being then rotated so that the projection engages behind the bight of the bracket. A compression spring 122 enclosed in the shaft 121a urges a contact ball 123 towards contact lugs 113, 114, the circuit being completed when the ball is positioned between and contacting both contacts 113a, 114a. A folded sheet 124 of insulating material is provided to insulate the plate 112 and contact lugs, one section of the sheet having pairs of apertures aligned with the slits 115, 116.
