934,867. Electric lighting fittings. E. J. SMITH. May 18, 1962 [July 6, 1961], No. 24402/61. Class 75 (4). An electric lamp housing, especially for use in public transport vehicles, comprises a trapezium shaped base 10 having means for supporting an electric lamp and a translucent cover 15 of resilient material wider than the base, inclined ribs 11 on two opposite edges of the base forming angular recesses into which the corresponding edges 12 of the cover fit and in which the cover is retained by its own resilience. The cover may have ends 16 engaging end stops. 13 on the base to prevent longitudinal movement. A fluorescent tube, an incandescent strip light or one or more incandescent bulbs may be mounted in the housing. The cover may bear advertisements, legends or the like.
