Abstract

934,386. Mounting electrical equipment. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO. Ltd. May 10, 1962 [Aug. 1, 1961], No. 27844/61. Class 37. A radioequipment cabinet assembly comprises a load-bearing skeleton structure of rigidly interconnected tubular metal members, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 14, Fig. 1, panelled with walls 12, e.g. of sheet metal. As shown, the tubular members, which are of the kind used for scaffolding, are mounted on a base 1 comprising a braced mild steel frame covered with a sheet of light aluminium alloy. Corner pieces 21 and top, bottom and intermediate rails 9, 10, 20 are fixed by brackets to the skeleton structure, while access to equipment mounted in the cabinet is provided by doors 13. The equipment, such as 16, Fig. 5, may be carried on chassis 15 mounted by brackets 17 on vertical tubes 14, and/or on metal sheets 18, Fig. 6 (not shown), mounted on tubes 14 by brackets 19 (not shown). The invention is suitable for housing high power transmitters which may comprise two cabinets: one for the modulator, the other for the H.F. amplifier.
