695,180. Frames, joints, and connections. HALLAM, SLEIGH & CHESTON, Ltd. Nov. 24, 1951, No 27593/51. Class 52(ii) [Also in Group XVII] A frame for a cabinet comprises separate bars connected together by three-armed corner-pieces to provide a skeleton structure to receive panels, the arms of the corner-pieces being stepped in relation to their central portions to form seatings for the bars so that the bar sare flush with the central portions. As shown, metal cornerpieces 1 have radiussed central portion 1a and transversely curved, integral arms 1b stepped at 3 to seat bars 2, set down flanges 2b being secured to the arms by screws or rivets 4 by which gusset plates 8, on which panels 7 are mounted, are also secured. The cabinet may have a hinged or sloping top panel 7a and intermediate bars 12 may be secured to the vertical bars by brackets which form a shelf support. In a further modification the arms and bars are of angle-section.
