Abstract

This system of construction of low-voltage terminal and switch cupboards has demountable steel sections that can be assembled to create a unit of the correct size. The frame uprights (12, 14) are of 'U' section with constant pitch holes (16) along the inner faces. Cross pieces have matching bolt-holes at the front and stubs (22) at the rear that fit on either side of the upright into the bolt-holes. This cross piece has a rectangular slot that accommodates a right-angled flange (36) that supports a transverse member (31) that can have a section profile to a given standard to accept switchgear etc. An assembled adjustable framework is capable of modification by front access after equipment has been mounted.
