Abstract
An ink for a ball pen comprises a solution of a nigrosine or induline salt of an aliphatic carboxylic acid having not more than 8 carbon atoms per molecule in an alcohol containing not less than 2 nor more than 7 carbon atoms per molecule and having a boiling point above 170 DEG C. Suitable acids include formic, acetic, propionic, chloroacetic, oxalic, succinic, glutaric, adipic, tartaric, glycollic, lactic, citric, cyclohexanecarboxylic and cyclohexyloxyacetic acids. Salts of mixtures of such acids may be used. Suitable alcohols include ethylene glycol, 1:2-propylene glycol, diethylene glycol and its monoethyl and monobutyl ethers, dipropylene glycol, 1:3-propane diol, 1:3-butane diol, 1:5-pentane diol, benzyl alcohol, and furfuryl alcohol. As a thickener, an oil-modified castor oil alkyd resin may be added.ALSO:An ink for a ball pen comprises a solution of a nigrosine or induline salt of an aliphatic carboxylic acid having not more than 8 carbon atoms per molecule in an alcohol containing not less than 2 nor more than 7 carbon atoms per molecule and having a boiling point above 170 DEG C.
